2. Monitoring Visit Methodology
Methodology we use in our monitoring visits is interviews with key informants and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with stakeholders as well as beneficiaries including children grassroots groups members, parents, and local leaders. The monitoring visit team discuss with members of each grassroots group visited on project activities and how they’re contributing in promoting their rights.
3. Number of Children who attended children’s group meet during our visits.
Number of Children groups visited are different in districts of implementation, in fact the number of children grassroots group members vary between 40 and 80 children.
4. What’s Going well in the district of implementation
- Children’s groups are contributing in shaping children’s day to day life through helping them to have good behavior;
- Children’s groups are helping children in their community to develop their talents (e.g: The Inyemeramihigo children grassroots group from Cyanika sector Burera district has a competent traditional dance group);
- Local or Community leaders are aware of children’s grassroots groups activities in ditricts of our interventions, in addition they help children initiatives through facilitating children’s groups to invite other children, parents and adults to attend some events or other children’s group activities organized by children’s group targeting the community, moreover children group members started to attend monthly community work known as Umuganda, as they’re planning to use such opportunities as community gathering to give the message of advocating issues that affect their fellows on day to day life and message aim to promote child rights especially child participation;
- Children’s groups are participating in encouraging their peers who dropped out to go back to school;
- Children are helping their fellows to enjoy their right in their group through sketch, songs and dances, etc.
