Children's Voice Today

Promotion of children's right to participation

A strategic goal 2 of our 2026–2030 strategic plan

Every child holds the right to participation  to be heard, to express themselves, and to play an active role in matters that affect their lives. This right is enshrined in Articles 12 and 13 of the UNCRC and in Article 9 of the ACRWC, which protects freedom of thought, conscience, and religion.

ACRWC · Article 9

“Every child shall have the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion. Parents and, where applicable, legal guardians shall have a duty to provide guidance and direction in the exercise of these rights having regard to the evolving capacities and best interests of the child.”

Under this strategic goal, CVT commits to championing child participation — empowering children and creating meaningful platforms for them to engage in solving matters that affect them at every level of society.
